    II.1.4) Trumpas aprašymas:

Norske tog AS owns and manages a fleet of FLIRT trainsets (types 74, 75, and 76) delivered by Stadler Rail between 2012 and 2023. Most of the fleet (types 74 and 75) uses traction converters with PEC2 microprocessor cards from ABB/Hitachi, which have been declared end-of-life as of 31 December 2023. This will gradually reduce repair and spare part availability, increasing the risk of operational disruptions and higher maintenance costs. The newer type 76 trainsets use PEC3 modules, which are not considered critical for replacement at this time. The PEC module is a key component of the traction converter, controlling power delivery to the trains traction motors and auxiliary systems. The design and software are proprietary to ABB/Hitachi, and the vehicle control system can only be modified by Stadler. Any upgrade must ensure full compatibility with existing systems and safety requirements. Norske tog is considering a fleet-wide upgrade from PEC2 to a newer platform (e.g., PEC4) to ensure long-term reliability and cost-effectiveness. While we believe this may be a task best suited for the original manufacturer or supplier, Norwegian procurement regulations require us to investigate whether alternative suppliers or solutions exist. This RFI is for information gathering only. All input will be considered in the further planning process.
