The purchase concerns a real time oscilloscope for data acquisition with an analogue bandwidth of at least 70GHz, sampling rate above 250 GSamples/s and at least 200Mpts of memory per channel. This performance must be available on four measurement channels simultaneously with a sampling resolution of at least 10 bits/sample and an effective number of bits (ENOB) of at least 5 bits per sample in the full bandwidth. Furthermore, the oscilloscope must be able to run VSA and OMA software in order to control the operation of an optical modulation analyser front end. The integration of the two pieces of equipment, the optical modulation analyser front end and the oscilloscope to be acquired, is central to the application of the system and compatibility should be guaranteed and tested.
