Elia is looking for a new partner to inspect overhead power lines using VLOS drones. Within the framework agreement, a distinction will be made between three types of inspections, each with their specific scope and associated expectation, and grouped into two LOTs: LOT 1: • General & High level inspection: Visual inspection of OHL assets (towers, foundations, equipment,…) to identify repair needs and assess the condition of the individual components. The majority of this assessment will consist of identifying and classifying rust on metallic towers. On top of this identification, the scope also includes a specific reporting of these repair needs & damage phenomena to enable further processing in our existing tools. • Detailed condition assessment of equipment: Inspection that, in addition to identifying repair needs & damage phenomena on OHL equipment (isolators, suspension clamps, vibrators, ...), also quantifies the remaining section of the suspension points by means of additional measurements during the flight. The results of these measurements will contribute to the calculation of the remaining strength of the suspensions. On top of the identification, the scope also includes a specific reporting of repair needs, damage phenomena & section measurements to enable further processing in our existing tools. LOT 2: • Detailed condition assessment of lattice towers Inspection that consist of flying a payload with a hyperspectral camera developed and delivered by ELIA. The characteristics of this payload and the methodology for inspection will be specified.
