The contract is for the replacement of the shale roof at Vestre Gravlund, Nye Kapell, which is located at Borgen underground station with an entrance to Sørkedalsveien, and has a capacity of 180 persons. The chapel was constructed in 1930 and completed in 1937. Parts of the roof are original from construction years, while some have been replaced at a later date. As the roof of the chapel is leaking, the main roof shall now be upgraded to a new standard. This means that new slate roofs shall be laid, replacement of fittings, gutters, replacement of windows and the necessary masonry and plaster. There are requirements for re-use of drains and snow traps. New Chapel is on yellow list (Gul liste) and it is a requirement from the Cultural Heritage Management Office that slate roofs shall be laid. The contractor must cooperate with the Cultural Heritage Management Office in execution, in order to ensure the building ́s integrity and aesthetic expression. An option has been included for the replacement of the batake. The option will be taken up if the budget for the procurement is compatible.
