Beaumont Hospital intends to purchase a Virtualis Motion VR Premium Solution from Interacoustics. On grounds of technical reasons, competition is absent for this requirement. Specifically, the model of equipment in question is the only model that introduces Virtual Reality for patient diagnostic and treatment. The system includes 2 forceplates to accommodate up/down, side to side, vertical and lateral tilt movements. The unique aspect of the VR goggle configuration is that as the head moves, the stimlulus moves also (full 360 view), whcih helps in replicating different environments accurately, such as being on a boat (through the added support of the forceplates). The value of this procurement is €141,000, inclusive of VAT. The Contracting Authority undertakes that this purchase will not be made until a period of fourteen calendar days has elapsed, commencing on the day after the date of dispatch of this notice for publication.
