St. Vincent's University Hospital propose to enter a contract for the supply of the Gallium Generator from Eckert & Ziegler Radiopharma for provision of Gallium scanning for neuroendocrine tumours. The solution includes capital equipment, delivery, installation and commissioning, training, warranty for a Term equal to the anticipated lifespan of the capital equipment (recommended lifespan 12 to 18 months). To the best of our knowledge, this solution is only one solution licenced by Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) in Ireland and is presently available only from Eckler & Ziegler. A Voluntary Ex-Ante Publication (VEAT) Notice will be published in OJEU, outlining SVUH’s intention to the market i.e. award a contract without prior call for competition as per Article 32.2.b.ii “competition is absent for technical reasons” (Procedure above EU Threshold). SVUH will not execute a contract with the identified provider for a minimum of fifteen (15) days from date of the publication of the above mentioned Notice.
