This periodic indicative notice is to inform bidders of upcoming tender for Control system, Governor and Excitation system and Protection system renewal at SOG hydro power plants in the south of Iceland. SOG hydro power plants consist of three cascaded power plants: Steingrímsstöð, Ljósafoss and Írafoss.
Landsvirkjun, the owner and operator of the plants, is planning renewal of the above mentioned systems with works on site expected to start early Q1 in 2027.
To procure this revewal, Landsvirkjun expects to utilise the Negotiated Procedure, as set out in Article 50 of Icelandic Regulation 340/2017 and Article 47 of the Utilities Directive 2014/25/EU. However, it is expected that Landsvirkjun will reserve the right to accept the most economically advantageous tender initially received at the start of the tender stage. The procurement is expected to commence in Q3 or Q4, in 2025.
