As part of the RescEU project, the National Emergency Supply Agency (hereinafter "NESA") is preparing the procurement of food monitors (one type of monitor) that are used to determine the radioactivity of samples taken from food contaminated in the target area after a nuclear/radiation accident. The utilization of the food monitors being purchased will be screening of I-131, Cs-134 and Cs-137 accumulated in food stuff in a radiological or nuclear emergency situation. The monitors will be used in the field at the crisis area. The monitors are intended for professional use by the competent authorities and their supporting actors in all weather and environmental conditions. The objective is to be able to efficiently and reliably screen large amounts of liquid and solid food stuff samples from resources exposed to a radioactive fallout. The hypothetical crisis-inducing event that would result in the deployment of the equipment stock, could be anything from a nuclear power plant accident to a strategic nuclear strike. Portable food monitor will be procured in a total quantity: 60 pcs Option for 10 pcs More detailed background information and requirements for the devices are described in attachments.
